fitter in 56
The Fitter in 56 challenge is now closed. Stay tuned for our next fitness challenge!
change your life
Think of this as the 8 Week Thrive-Athlete version of ’75-Hard’. Rather than a solo challenge, this will be team based, with more of an emphasis on specific tasks, targets, and goals.
We want you all to spread your knowledge, to spread your energy, and to spread your love of health and fitness. As a community we’re not just about us Thriving, we’re about spreading our energy to help all our loved ones thrive too!
With teams of 2-4 people you must keep each other accountable, take responsibility, and step up to achieve the desired goals and win the challenge. This is not only applicable in the Fitter in 56, but in every day life!
4 specific workouts will start and finish the challenge (test during week 1 and re-test during week 8). Each workout is to be completed by all members of the team, and will be scored on a percentage of improvement point basis.
We will be programming in the gym to help you all improve on these 4 workouts. We will also have a test for your non-gym teammate dependent on the capacity of that human, and if they do not want to come into the gym to do the workouts as prescribed. The 4 workouts will be as follows:
We would like before and after photos (front, side, back). Similar to the workouts, we will be using a point based system that correlates to the Inbody readings and/or Photos that are submitted at the beginning and the end.
If you have not worked with TA before it will be a full 8-week commitment for nutrition where the TA staff will assign you a macro plan and you will learn the ins and outs of nutrition quality and quantities. You will be assigned a coach and will partake in Weekly zooms, nutrition tracking with Joe or Tim as your coach.
If you have worked with TA before it will be a much smaller commitment level from you. That will be based off of the involvement you would like from your coach.
Joe and Tim will send out their top recommended books, one for mindset and one for health. 10 pages of reading a day will be part of the challenge. Being healthy isn’t just about looking good, it’s also about feeling great both mentally and physically.
The scoring will be averaged across the number of members of your team to prevent a team of 2 or 3 from being at a disadvantage vs a team of 4. This will also promote team members pushing each other.
Anyone is welcome to partake in this challenge. We will be accepting anyone age 17+.
A Team is permitted to have more than 1 person from outside the gym.
Zooms will be a set time each week; the duration will be approximately 30minutes.
We will be using MyFitnessPay and Trainerize as our systems for logging, etc.
A specific training guide will be provided to maximize performance results across the workouts.
